When posting around here, using common sense will get you quite far. But unfortunately it's not as easy as that, since common sense has proven to be not quite so common in the world, so that is why the rules generally need to be listed. As always, normal proboards TOU applies on this forum, but here's a quick, condensed rundown of the forum rules you can quickly refer to. And as always, remember that we're all here to have fun.
Posting in General
1. No flaming, trolling or harassment allowed.
2. Absolutely no spamming allowed.
3. Post your messages in the appropriate sections and stay on topic. For example, out of character discussion goes in the discussion thread, not the RP thread itself, unless specified otherwise.
4. When discussing books, games, movies and so on, clearly mark all spoilers so you won't ruin the material for others.
5. No advertising allowed without the explicit consent of forum staff.
6. We're not your fap stash, so don't post porn or other explicit images or videos.
7. In any unclear situation not covered by the previous rules, the staff may use their own discretion to determine whether a post should be considered a violation or not.
Breaking any of the aforementioned rules will generally result in the deletion of the offending message(s), followed either by a warning, temporary suspension or permaban, depending on the severity of the offense.

The next section is a quick look on how roleplaying is generally done on this forum.
Roleplaying Etiquette
1. In general, RPs on this forum adhere to the novel format. This means complete sentences and line breaks, things you'd expect to see in a normal book. Any other formats (Such as script style or the likes of House of Leaves) should stay in the creative writing section.
2. Check your post for errors before clicking submit. There's no better way to make someone not want to read what you posted than filling it with misspelled words and commas in strange places, so spell check, spell check, and again, spell check!
3. Single sentence or paragraph posts are heavily frowned upon, so please put effort into your writing.
4. Keep player knowledge separate from character knowledge. For example, if there is no way for your character to be aware of the fact that they're about to walk into a trap set by another writer's character, your own writing should reflect that.
5. Situational awareness is not optional. That is, be aware of what's going on in the story, and where characters are. This way, we'll avoid confusing situations where people interact with people who are already dead, or in completely different places altogether.
6. Avoid god modding. This means portraying your character as more powerful than he realistically should be for no adequate reason, always dodging attacks while giving others no chance to dodge theirs, among other things. Also, while the nature of roleplaying here involves controlling the characters of other people to a degree, using this to give yourself an unfair advantage will not be tolerated.
If there is a problem with your post, we will generally let you know and allow you to fix it, and that will be it. However, if it seems clear that you are purposefully breaking the guidelines repeatedly, you may be suspended or banned.
