This is less of an RP/FF request and more of a method by which I'll determine what people will be interested in. I plan to take on the full responsibility of managing/running these potential RPs, and I promise to keep them interesting and as quickly paced as both enjoyable and possible.
(though if anyone else is interested, help is always nice ;D )[/i]
Be sure to read each synopsis of the future plans with each of these potential RPs and comment with your thoughts!
...
- Dragon Ball, the Power of a Wish - This story would take place long before the events of Dragon Ball. Characters will be on a journey through the stars to find the legendary Namek and its Dragon Balls said to be capable of granting any wish.
Will your wishes be granted? VOTE VOTE VOTE!
- Naruto: Shinobi Dreams - This would take place within a very similar yet completely different shinobi world. None of the characters that we know exist in this new universe, yet things work quite the same and some of the past events are similar.
Will your dreams come to fruition? VOTE VOTE VOTE!
- Pokemon: Kanto Calls! - This would be the first installment in a series of RPs that we could do, we would start out as rookie trainers each with our own goals within the pokemon world, so so so many possibilities here.
Will you catch them all? VOTE VOTE VOTE!
- Kingdom Hearts, The Ultimate Battle Story - This would be an UBS style RP of Kingdom Hearts, as such we'd be playing behind the scenes of the games. We'd start with Birth by Sleep, as we tried to stop the worlds falling to darkness.
Will your heart resist the darkness? VOTE VOTE VOTE!
- Avatar: Bending Reborn - This takes place far into the future where bending is thought to be almost extinct and the Avatar long gone. However, it seems that a new generation of benders is rising, what journeys await?

I've already shared my thoughts on a DBZ and a Naruto RP, that being that I really wouldn't be interested in either. I wouldn't mind a Naruto RP if we had to do one, but I'm not casting my vote for one. That said: 1) Pokemon - Really, this is an excuse to use Xatu, Umbreon, Kingdra, Togetic, Rapidash, and Misdreavus in a party.  Although I would so kill for a Pokemon RP, as long as we're playing by Pokemon Special (the manga) rules. You know... where Team Rocket, for one, is actually competent. 2) Kingdom Hearts - I have a soft spot for Kingdom Hearts, and hey, keyblades and whatnot! Let's do it! 3) Avatar - This is about the same for Kingdom Hearts. Soft spot for it, let's do it. |

DBZ and Naruto - I'm just going to give a straight no to these two, neither is something I'm at all interested in personally.
Pokemon - Maybe. Though if this gets done, I think it should do away with all the silliness like four move limits, PPs and whatnot. And possibly give the world a darker twist, since it's much more fun and interesting when Team Rocket is an actual threat that doesn't get defeated by a 10 year old kid and his plot armor.
Kingdom Hearts - Just... Well, my interest in KH in general is quite possibly a negative number. It just doesn't do anything for me.
Avatar - Not overly familiar with this, but the universe seems interesting enough to warrant a maybe.

I will submit my vote for none of the above, even though that was not an option you gave. None of these RPs particularly sounds appealing. They're not something that enough of the people here have in common interest (with the exception, perhaps, of Pokemon). It's too much of a narrow interest range, so at most there would be 3... maybe 4 people in the RP. Which, while it can be done, really doesn't work out well with 1 post every 2 months. And I really wish that time estimate was an exaggeration.
The fact of the matter is, this is not the time to be worried about other RPs, especially those which have such a limited amount of interest in them. We're struggling to keep just ONE story afloat right now, and if ever that situation changes, we have existing RPs on hold that would and should receive preferential treatment in revival before we up and start something new. In addition, if ever we reach a point of being able to handle more than one RP, I'd be FAR more interested in Praetor's Mech RP joining the site than anything on your list. No offense. It just goes to show the divisive interest range I mentioned.

I plan on waiting a while before trying to start any of these up.  (and by a while, I mean waiting until it seems like a good time to start one of these, when the site seems ready for them)The "none of the above" option was purposefully left out however. As I said, this was a poll to see what people would be interested in, not whether or not they would be interested, thus voting would give me an idea of what everyone would want to do. Don't get me wrong though, I have no plans of taking away from the other RPs, I'd love nothing more than for each RP to get the attention each and every one of them deserve. Prae's Mech RP, Bellum(, oblivion?), and others deserve a chance to either pick of where they were left off or hit the ground running. Anyways, if anything does happen to seem interesting, please vote!  The "narrowness" of the poll may be attributed to things I know enough about and that aren't too similar to what we've already got going on. Hope that clears up any misconceptions! |

I would like to revisit this (very old) topic and revise my position. I think it was Will who said at one point that some of our most productive months/years for EotD and Bellum were when both of the RPs were up at the same time and we'd have a flurry of activity for one, then the other. Not that I want to say that we should just make a conscious effort to alternate posting in one given RP at a time, but I think it sort of makes sense that focusing only on one thing all the time can be creatively exhausting. Maybe the reason the two-RP method worked well was because we were able to kind of subconsciously shift our focus to where if we got stuck in one story, there was always the other one that we might have an idea for.
Either that or it just happened to line up that we could post in one while waiting on people for the other. >_>
But in any case, I think a new RP could be a good thing if handled well. I would be willing to do any of these (as I happen to be one of the few here who actually has an interest in all of these choices), but my primary vote would be for Avatar. Pokemon would be the second choice. Hell, I think Will, Data, and I were planning a Pokemon RP at one point based on that Pokemon MMORPG... maybe we could look back at that if that's the top choice.

I've actually been tossing around ideas for the Avatar RP in my head for a while now, I was planning on doing it on GameFAQs for practice whenever I got things sufficiently planned out. |

No, but srsly - JS, what sorts of ideas did you have in mind for the RP? Mostly, I'm curious about the setting and time period. Is it like a traditional UBS where we're in the background or in other locations while Aang & co are doing their thing? Is it some time in the past or the future? Alternate universe altogether?

I kinda like the idea of another time period, during the time of another avatar, something to explore more of. Like during Roku or Kyoshi. We wouldn't be fully involved with the Avatar, but can still be having whatever impact we have.
